We've incorporated a new twist in this garden swing that you haven't likely seen before. With this original plan, the bench's center seat (there is room for three adults) pops up to become a convenient drink table that's perfect for keeping books, suntan lotion, and of course, tall, cool drinks readily at hand.As well, the plans for this freestanding garden swing can be modified so the bench hangs directly from a tree or above the porch. We've also carefully crafted the bench to be sure it's extremely comfortable for long stretches of quiet, contemplative thought.

You may use any standard, exterior-grade lumber you wish with the project and our plan comes complete with a list of materials and tools required, a detailed cutting schedule, construction photos, and easy-to-follow, step-by-step instructions.

When built as pictured here, the garden swing and structure stands approximately 80 inches wide.
