0714 - Victorian Doll House - Every family should have an heirloom to be handed on from generation to generation, be it furniture or a toy; and if that item is handmade by a family member, it will be treasured that much more! I've found that adults have as much fun building our doll houses as children have playing with them.

Imagine the delight on that special child’s face when she first sees this beautifully appointed two story, Victorian-style doll house with balustrades on the roof and front balcony – and again when it opens up to reveal all the magic of the interior with its ten rooms, attic, staircase and two fireplaces. The doll house features front and back porches, bay windows, a widow's walk (very Victorian!), gingerbread trim and a shingled roof.

While incorporating delicate details, this doll house is designed to be played with - the house is hinged on one end to make all of the approximately 10 sq.ft. of interior floor area easily accessible to little fingers.

The plans for this project detail all you need to know to build the doll house and come with a complete materials list, step-by-step instructions and illustrations. A variety of inexpensive household materials can be used to finish the project. Tongue depressors make great shingles and velvet ribbon can be used for elegant wallpaper!
