Lion Scooter
It's not always easy to come up with new ideas for children's toys that are fun, safe and inexpensive but here's one that fits the bill and, is easy to build. This lion scooter is a great substitute for those plastic scoot-a-bouts that have both a limited appeal and durability. Still, this project offers your child the excitement of safe mobility while improving his or her co-ordination.To keep costs down, the scooter is designed to make use of only a small amount of stock wood. In fact, one piece of two inch by 12 inch by four-foot lumber is all that is needed. Construction requires only the most common tools. In fact, power tools aren't even necessary! Full-size diagrams for all of the scooter's parts need only be traced on to your wood and then cut out. There is no measuring or enlarging to do. A shopping schedule tells you exactly what to buy and a cutting schedule will keep you organized throughout. Ten photos illustrate the entire assembly process and full-size stencils make it easy to paint the lion's face with a friendly smile. Pattern No. 833.
