In addition to its ‘showcase’ function, this hutch has an extremely functional side, having two, large easy-sliding drawers below the shelf surface and an open storage area below that which runs its full width. Since these are not the olden days, you probably won't be using the shelf for its original purpose of dressing meat, so its surface too can be used for display!
