The Shakers knew all about simplicity and function, and that philosophy shows through in the design of this combination shelf and coat rack. This unit would be most at home near a front or rear entrance door, where its 48" (122 cm) length provides generous shelf space that could be used for decorative purposes (a collection of curios, potted plants, photos etc.)

The shelf's underlying 17" deep (43 cm) wall supports bracket a row of five pegs on which to hang outerwear. While this unit is ideally suited for a country-style home or summer cottage, its appeal and utility makes it versatile enough to be an attractive addition to all but the most formal homes.
